Things Your Veterinarian Won’t Tell You

2. All pets can benefit from supplements. Even pets fed a great natural diet cannot receive every possible ingredient that can benefit its health. Using supplements enhances the positive effects of a great diet. In my practice, all pets receive Vim & Vigor from Pet Togethers and those five years of age and over also receive Cholodin or Cholodin Flex from MVP Labs. This protocol, which I also give to my own dog and cat, minimizes diseases and enhances health for all of my patients.

3. No pet is too old to anesthetize. All pets regardless of age can and should be anesthetized for regular dental cleanings, tumor removal, and any other procedures which are deemed medically necessary. Old age is not a disease, and healthy older pets do just as well as younger pets when safely anesthetized and carefully monitored. In fact, most of the patients I anesthetize are older pets, and they all handle our holistic approach to anesthesia very well.

4. Pets with cancer respond very well to treatment with chemotherapy and radiation with few side effects. Unlike the situation in people, conventional cancer therapies rarely cause significant side effects in pets. Most pets with cancer can be put into remission quickly when conventional medications are used. And keep in mind that most pets with cancer live even longer, healthier, pain-free lives when an integrative approach, combining the proper diet and nutritional supplements and chemotherapy or radiation, is used!
